But the emotions that true sports lovers have are the same. Most of the people are emotionally attached to certain sports, and they cannot bear if their favorite team or their favorite player loses the game. The intensity of emotions that certain people show is something that cannot be explained in words. On October 30, 1974, the world witnessed one of the greatest boxing matches of all time. It was between Mohammed Ali and the undefeated world heavyweight champion George Foreman. Ali was 32 and Foreman was 40. Both the men put up a great show, and the match went till the eighth round. It was in the eighth round Mohammed Ali defeated Foreman with a knockout.

1988 NBA Slam Dunk contest

The year 1988 was definitely one of the iconic years for the NBA. The greatest NBA player of all time defied gravity and did an unbelievable thing that placed him in an unreachable position in the game of basketball. The dunk contest was between Jordan and Wilkins. The word completion would be an understatement. It is more like a battle where Jordan did one of a kind dunk by leaping from the free throw line.

The 1936 Olympics

Jessie Owens, who is considered to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, made history in the 1936 Olympics by winning Gold in 100m, 200m, long jump and 4 x 100m relay. There was a lot of effort from Hitler to stop Jessie Owens from participating in the Olympics. In spite of all the hurdles, Owens managed to bring glory to his country.

Football is one of the famous sports in the world with a lot of famous personalities. It has a huge fan following. One of the iconic figures in the sport of football is Maradona. In 1986 the world cup semi-finals were between Argentina and England. Maradona scored two goals in which one of them was scored with his hand which the referee did not notice.

Jackie Robinson was invited to play a major league game for Brooklyn Dodgers. He was the first African American to play in a major league, and it also paved the way for the other African Americans to play the game.
